Mom the strongest!!!

I think there was no better time than this for writing a blog about giving my mommy a de-stress therapy! Here I go....

It so happened that my father had to go for his routine check up. This time though, it was decided that we should get this done in a best-known multispecialty hospital in Gurgoan(still regretting this decision though!)  Any which ways, the trip was planned and since it was just a regular check full body check-up, only my parents were going.

The whole plan which they explained to us, seemed easy as a pie...My dad would be admitted and they will do all the test with just one family member around. One help will be provided especially for us to take my father around for different checkups and tests. We will not have to run around finding rooms/doctors, that boy-help will help us.

This is what was told. Simple...isn't it!

Well, it just sounded simple till the first day. Every test stated in the package was done but as the test was in the final step, ECG was the last one. They detected a "blockage". They made a havoc in my parent's mind. They made them feel that "right now some major surgery should be done...Must must must be done!"

My parents are doctors. When they saw the reports they were okay with it but the way the entire drama was built, even they got quite nervous. They agreed for a detailed test - angiography the following day!

The night was beyond our limit to handle stress. We three, my sister, brother and me, got our tickets done. We were to reach by next evening to New Delhi.

The sun again shined, though it was tensed morning for us. My mom and dad reached hospital at stated time and when they reached there, what happened was quiet unexpected.

The staff insisted my parents to under angioplasty...without even getting the angiography done. My parents got a doubt in their mind. They straight away rejected their suggestion. They took good Rs 11000/- for angiography. My papa was taken inside and one family member was allowed if he/she had token.  But they didn't let my mother in. My mother gave a piece of mind to the guard and went inside where the procedure was taking place. She saw papa and came back.

There was another old man whose wife was taken inside and they were not allowing him inside. My mother asked him to get the token. He got it. And told him, just go inside...no one can stop you if you have one. The guard didn't dare to stop that old man.

To our surprise, before doing anything, they gave the report stating that he will have a very minor blockage as he has asthma. But it is nothing to worry.

Really? Were you kidding last evening?

Then the discharge drama started. Pay-counters are easily accessible but the place where you get discharge ticket is probably in the Patal-lok. Going down and down makes you nervous as the crowd was less and you actually don't know where you will reach. My mother...all alone was trying hard to find the place. Did you ask about the boy-help ...especially for us...well he refused to get or even accompany my mother to show where the discharge forms are filled...he said he can only help with the patient movement. Somehow, one gentleman...another boy helper saw my mother very troubled, so helped her. He showed her the counter...came back with  her and helped her and papa out of hospital.

Phew!!!

Corporatization in hospitals....reaching a target has made a scary atmosphere. For reaching their targets...I don't think they will think twice before operating a completely healthy person. The operation or expensive tests seem to have no relation with the health of the patient.
Well, my parents got alert but the way they talk, I am sure many have already fallen into their trap. God will help them.

But in all this fuss, my mom reassured us again. She is the most most strongest(wrong  English....but no one made a word to express what I feel ;) ) lady in the whole wide world!!! If it was me in your place, I don't know how lost I would be. But thank God it was you, Maa. You are our inspiration and idol. Not letting situation taking over you and dealing with everything with full force....I am just sooo sooo proud of the fact that I am your child!!!

I’m blogging about why my mother needs to de-stress with a Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil massage for the #StressFreeMom activity at BlogAdda.
