Time flies!

It's like yesterday you arrived
Time knows the art of flying fast
Now you walk, talk & dance.

(My baby will turn 1.5 years tomorrow. Its amazing to see a small doll to grow up in a individual already who has her own 'yes' and mostly 'no'. :)

Shadi ka Happy Budday!!

I have met a lot of people till today. But I have not met with some one with such a spirit. Well, of course she is not a person at a high-held post neither does she holds any degree or awards, she just cooks at different houses. Yes, she is my cook.

One fine morning she came, all decked up. And she told me - "aaj mere shadi kaa happy budday hai."

She was all happy, blushing and was ready to rock her entire day. She had planned her day well and shared the same with me. She made special lunch for herself, planned to have a lot of her favorite vada pav and dinner plans with her friends with super spicy chicken at her house.

I was confused, silent and puzzled.

She lost her husband around 10 years back. She didn't remarry and was living with her children.

Amazing! I was just bowled over by the way she is living her life. No sorrows. No regrets. No pains. No strings attached. Just the happy memories around. Spirit to enjoy whatever it may be.

Art of living. Isn't it.

But she is correct to enjoy. May be her husband is not around but the life which she is leading started this very day. There was no looking back. Her children joined her happy times. Her husband parted from them but still they lived in the same house, somewhat harder but similar situations, their own lives.

I have seen people breaking apart with separation, but have not seen such a person. Hats off to her and her spirits.

She taught me whatever it may be, if your spirits are high, that's all you will need to lead a happy life.I have zillions of unfinished wishes for which i cry and crib about. Well, not any more. Her shadi kaa happy budday has changed my perspective of looking at things a lot. I enjoy my present, i work for my unfinished dreams but cry no more.

All i can say is that, in the end, all that matters is your spirit. If you want to cry, you will in all situations. If you want to smile, you will in all situations. What say!!

I Saw, I Learnt

I Saw, I Learnt!!

My mom is my strongest pillar, (of course just after my dad) i hang on to. I think, i am what i am because of her. She walked ahead of me to set examples, she walked beside me to hold whenever i fall and she walked behind me to bring out the person she wanted me to be.

Thanks is, of course, an understatement!

Of all things she taught me, one which I am immensely thankful is for value of - SHARING!

When i open my box of old goodies, well it is all empty. My favorite doll, my favorite red frock, my favorite pink pony with ultra straight haired tail and my other favorites are all gone. They exist only in my memory.

I remember that my mom used to ask me to give away my favorite toys to the maid's kids. She would not hesitate in giving away my favorite clothes to them either. Or, even worse, my brand new clothes for some special occasions to my cousins. A small chips packet or a huge cake, all needs t be shared by all present.

Of course, I used to just JUST hate all this sharing and caring. But eventually as i grew up, i became less possessive about my things and more empathetic towards people around me. And i realized all this only when its time for me to mother my baby and pass these values.

My baby is just one and a half year but i ask her to share. With her little hands she feeds everyone in the family. Well, barely anything reaches our mouth, but the training has indeed started.

I saw my mom and i learnt and now its time to set an example!

My Signature dish...My baby's Wish!!!

I am not a food blogger but I am a new mom of a complete tantrum baby queen. My doting daughter is a year and a month, but she manages to throws zillions of "nakhras" while eating and drinking milk. I have to run behind her with food or milk, request her, plead her, scold her, well, of course, all in vein. My baby's peevishness in eating takes me to kitchen most of the time to try various healthy things which can provide maximum nutritive supplements to her in each byte she takes.

I tried a new healthy cutlets to make her eat some veggies and soya granules which makes her smile and she actually asks for more. Here's my recipe:

Ingredients:

1.  Boiled potato - Potato are rich in carbs and which gives her energy to put the house upside down just a 100 times in a day.

2.  Par Boiled Carrots - Carrots are good for eye vision as i don't want her to wear spectacles all her life like me :(

3.  Par Boiled Peas - Peas are good in zinc, iron, vitamins and tastes delicious.

4.  Boiled Soya Granules - Soya granules are rich source of protein (My baby HATES milk, so I need to look for other good sources of calcium and protein).

5.  Coriander: Coriander is very good for eyes and keep eyes away from various contagious diseases.

6.  Onion: Apart from adding to the taste of the dish being made, it contains small quantity of vitamins, minerals and fiber.

7.  Roasted Cumin seeds: These common looking seeds have immense goodness and very nutritive and additionally helps in digestion.

8.  Hing: Just a pinch of hing and it eradicates many digestive problems, stomach aches and intestinal worms.

9.  Bread Crumbs: Tastes amazingly good.

10. Rice Bran Oil: I specifically use only this oil as it has the power of anti-oxidant and adds awesome flavor to the food being cooked in it. It is a complete yes yes for my baby and everyone else in the family.

Take all the above ingredients in a bowl except the rice barn oil:

Mix well using your hands or fork:

Heat the rice bran oil in a pan and make small cutlets and toast them over medium flame:

Toast the cutlets on both sides and serve with sauce or green chutney:

Well, this is not the end result which pleases me, but the following is, yeah sure:

Yes, she loves it and eats little by little with minimum help from others. I save my energy from running behind her with the plate and with the food almost untouched. With just a little bit of hard work in the kitchen, my baby eats :) and the plate becomes empty..yes it does!!

Ariel - Our little Mermaid!!

Curls curls curls...that's exactly what i wanted all my life. But i am blessed with straight hair, well almost (not like the ones you see in the ads but hey my hair is also good :P)

On and off i keep switching my shampoos after getting too inspired by the ads and the percentage shown, and after terrible hair falls and other problems i always switch back to my basic one - Sunsilk. Yeah that's the one which my mom tells me to use and that's the only one which keeps my hair just smashing hit all the time.

Life goes on but that wish to get the curls didn't die. The disastrous post effects of artificially curling of hair has always stopped me for doing so. But till today I go green on seeing my friends perfect curls. Whatever it is now. Straight it is!

When i was carrying my baby, i thought, my baby will have perfect curls like my bro's son. Those perfect curls dangling left, right and center which adds to his cuteness like a zillion times more.

I was just waiting for my D day to see my baby and her curls. Oh she was the most beautiful sight i had ever seen. My baby was just soooo adoooraaable. No words to describe those beautiful tiny nose, eyes, fingers, toes, lips, ears. She was just soo .. perfect. Oh damn. No hair. Haha. Yeah she had hardly any hair on her head. But she managed to look perfect without them also.

I waited for a year to see those curls but hey did i mention before that i used -Sunsilk - SUNSILK STRAIGHT SHAMPOO all the way. I saw the perfect effect on my kid's hair. Well, her hair is also STRAIGHT.

We had to change her name to - Ariel. Do i really need to tell why?

When we were away at my mom's place, my husband complained a lot about the signal problems in the new house. Well, all those has been taken care by our little mermaid. Still, when we get no signal message, we know what must be reason -

We just get the signal straightened up. Whatever it may be, the prefect straight sunsilk, it is worth trying for the ones who love straight hair. For those who are carrying, you can also try your luck too. Just use it girls!! You will get that Perfect Straight hair all the way :)

What ever it may be, now i no more want curls, i am in love with the new straight hair style. I just love it and love the one who proudly carries this new and unique style. All smiles.
